The success of BMW's "New Class" 4-door sedans led to the addition of 2-door sedans and 2-door coupes in their "New Class" line. The 2-door coupes, the 2000C & 2000CS, were introduced in 1965 and became the basis for the E9 CS Coupes, the coupe counterpart of the E3 Sedans. The first E9 coupe, the 2800CS was added in 1968 and the 3.0CS and its variants (3.0CSi & 3.0CSL) were added in 1971. The 2.5CS was added in 1974.

Seat Upholstery

World Upholstery & Trim offers front seat kits and rear seat kits for the "New Class" coupes (1965-1969) and the E9 coupes (1968-1975) except for the CSL Coupes. CSL coupes used racing seats that we currently do not have the patterns for. These seat kits includes all the seat covers necessary to completely replace the seat upholstery of a CS Coupe seat. No other seat parts like the pads, frame, cables and other hardware are included. The seat covers are already pre-sewn and ready for installation. Installation will require removal of the old seat upholstery as well as possible fixing or replacement of internal seat parts like the seat pads. Pre-made seat pads for these models are unfortunately no longer available.

Carpet Sets

World Upholstery & Trim offers interior and trunk carpet sets for all CS Coupes. The carpet for the "New Class" coupes are different from the E9 coupes and all the E9 coupes used the same floor thus not changing the carpet. Some later E9 coupes had a 1-pc passenger floor carpet instead of 2-pc as well as carpet in the package/hat tray instead of vinyl. Also, 3.0CS and 3.0CSi coupes had built-in tool holders that affected the trunk carpet. These carpet sets are "cut and bound": separate pieces of carpet, the visible edges bound in vinyl and each piece ready to be installed in a precise location in your interior. Like all carpet sets, some trimming is required and we recommend the use of professional installers.

Headliners

World Upholstery & Trim offers pre-sewn replacement headliners for most models of "New Class" and E9 coupes. The headliners for the "New Class" coupes are different from the E9 coupes and also vary based on whether they have a sunroof or not. Motorized sunroofs became an option among E9 coupes characterized by a zipper in the rear part of the headliner that gives access to the sunroof motor. Aftermarket motorized sunroofs were common for E9 coupes and is distinct from the factory sunroof by the fact that the motor is at the front. We can only provide headliner material for coupes with aftermarket sunroofs. The original headliner material used in this coupe is no longer produced by anyone. We instead use a similar vinyl embossed in the same manner as the original.

These replacement headliners are already cut and sewn to fit and ready for installation but headliner replacement as a whole is an arduous task so we still recommend the use of professional installers.

Interior Panels

World Upholstery & Trim only offers OEM door panels and rear quarter panels for the E9 Coupes. The OEM panels for the "New Class" coupes (2000C/CS) have been discontinued. The unique embossing and the heat sealed pleats in the CS coupes makes it hard to create reproductions. These OEM panels only come in original black vinyl and no attached hardware (handle, armrest, knobs, ashtray, wood, chrome, etc.) is included. The board panel already includes all the factory holes. The vinyl itself has no holes and it's up to the installer to create them depending on what hardware is going to be attached. If you need it to match the interior of your car, we recommend the use of sprayable dyes before installing.

Rubber Seals

World Upholstery & Trim offers OEM rubber seals for the most commonly replaced rubber seals in E9 coupes. Most OEM rubber seals for the "New Class" coupes has already been discontinued and there are no known reproductions as of yet. Many E9 rubber seals are still available but the original manufacturer is slowly phasing them out so we highly recommmend not delaying if you plan on replacing your E9 coupe's rubber seals sometime in the future.
